Colombian-born duo Andrea Vargas Dieppa and Elisa Restrepo were inspired by a pair of men’s shoes they found in Mexico City to launch their own line. This glossy grey slip-on is their take on the penny loafer, born in 1936 when G.H. Bass & Co. reimagined a Norwegian farm shoe designed for “loafing in the field.” The Dieppa Restrepo version is handmade, with a leather sole and slim stacked wood heel, and elegant in its simplicity. “You wear the shoes, they don’t wear you,” says Restrepo.
